Welcome to Natural Health & Fitness Consultants.com

I am WNBF Pro Bodybuilder Chad Troup.  I have started this website to market my Health & Fitness Consulting services, my future book, my "Missouri All Natural Bodybuilding & Figure Championships", and my own Pro Bodybuilding career.

I started this business several years ago after I first started in Bodybuilding and needed a business to start my Juice Plus distributorship program.  While I still think Juice Plus is a great product, I no longer am a distributor, and have now changed the focus and goals of this business.  In the last several years I have grown to love the sport of Natural Bodybuilding, and want to do everything I can to promote it.   In doing so I also realized that I am even more passionate about helping others reach their Health & Fitness goals in bodybuilding and/or in life in general.

In the short term, I want to continue to develop my Health & Fitness Consulting business for Contest & Non-Contest clients.  All the while progressing in my Bodybuilding career by growing and expanding the promotion of my "Missouri All Natural Bodybuilding & Figure Championships", and exceling in my WNBF Professional Contest career.

I am also continuing to write my first book on how to eat healthy & stay fit on the road (title still to come).  I ultimately would love to be able to incorporate traveling around to companies nationally to consult with them and their employees on how to institute such a thing.

While I have no degree in nutrition, I do walk the walk and practice what I preach.  I've been out of shape, and I've been in shape.   I have weighed 242lbs + at my heaviest 9years ago, then trimmed all the way down to 165lbs for a Bodybuilding Competition 3 years ago.  My normal off-season walking around weight is around 185lbs, and at 6'1" I compete around 170lbs.  Before I started in Bodybuilding I tried almost every diet I've ever heard of just to see which ones work and which ones don't.  I've done Atkins, South Beach, ABS Diet, an all fat diet (that was a crazy one), The Makers Diet, The Metabolic Transformation, Dr. Joe K's Contest Diet, amongst countless others.  All of them seemed to work to some level if you followed the plan and were very consistent.  My heaviest weight ever of 242lbs was when I got married.  I had comfortably walked around at 210-220 throughout college and a few years after.  At that time I was looked upon as one of the more physically fit guys that I knew.  It required me to work out 1-2hrs a day, and eat a relatively healthy diet.  (Or at least what I thought was healthy at the time!) The 242 lbs. actually was a result of a car accident I was in that prevented me from working out for several months, while continuing to eat the same.  Not too long after we were married and  recovered from my injuries I trimmed my way back down to 210 or so.  But I didn't want to stop there.  I really wanted to try to hit my peak nutrition level.  Being heavy was not a fun time, and now I wanted to get as far from that as possible.  That's when I discovered "The Makers Diet", a biblical based diet that one of my healthiest friends turned me on to.  It was very similar to "South Beach Diet", except the first 40 days were pretty strict.  With that diet I trimmed down another 20lbs to a very lean and muscular 190lbs with single digit bodyfat and Abs like I'd never had before.  That book also really helped me understand the importance of probiotics, digestive enzymes, fruits, veggies, whole food in general ,and overall natural health.

I was very happy with my physique at that time, and that same summer was approached at the gym by a natural bodybuilding promoter Shawna Meyer.  Shawna encouraged my wife Maggie and I to sign up for her show which was 8wks away.  After some heavy persuading Maggie convinced me to do the show.  So with the help of Shawna and one of my buddies who had competed in a BB show before.  Maggie and I went through the good "old fashioned", hardcore bodybuilding prep.  8wks of torturous dieting, cardio, ketogenic dieting, sodium manipulation, and water deprivation.  And as hard as it was,  it actually worked.  At least in a way.  It stripped almost another 15lbs or so off of both of us.  Even though we were in the best shape of our lives when we started, we now looked competiton ready.  So we did great at the show, and I even ended up winning my novice class.  So to celebrate our great accomplishment we decided to go on a vacation to Mexico.

Well vacation was fun, except what I didn't understand was how two weeks after the show where we looked the best we'd ever had.  Now we were looking at each other 15-20lbs heavier, and feeling worst and less in shape then we were before we started.  That is when I really started to research the bodybuilding thing.  I found an interesting online article written by Dr. Joe Klemczewski  about disaster diet plans and how if you dieted with him you didn't have to ketogenic diet, and/or water deplete.  More importantly you wouldn't have trained your body to get ready to put on large amounts of fat post contest.  All of which sounded pretty good to me.  So long story short, Joe is now one of my good friends, and I've been using his contest prep services for almost 4yrs now to get ready for my own competitions.  You can find out more information about him on my links page, or by going to www.perfectpeaking.com.  Just be sure to tell him I sent you;)

So as you can see, I've been overweight and out of shape, and now I've achieved a conditioning level worthy to be called a Professional Bodybuilder.  I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that I prefer the latter.  When I see how far I've been able to come in my own journey, and I've been able to see the countless results of others who have made similar transformations, it really drives me to want to help others.  My job as a medical device salesman over the years has also shown me how the long term neglect of ones health and fitness can and is a contributing factor to many debilitating and life threatening complications and diseases.  The culmination of such has brought me to this point where I really feel that it is part of my calling to help others recognize and achieve their health and fitness goals.
